Born in 1973, Ramakanta Sahu is an artisan from Katapalli who started working in Bell Metal craft during his childhood. He hasn't taken any formal training in the craft but has gained expertise through experience, becoming a master craftsman in the polishing phase of production. Notably, Ramakanta does not reuse or repurpose metal from older Kansa objects. He began making Kansa at an early age while learning techniques from his father, Krishnachandra Sahu. Together, they create unique objects such as Kunkhuri and Gutkia among others.
