Krushna Chandra Meher is a 70-year-old appliqué artisan from Butupalli village in Boudh district, Odisha, and a senior member of the Meher family lineage that has practiced this craft for over a century. As part of an earlier generation of artisans, his work has contributed to sustaining the family’s involvement in the production of ritual objects associated with Danda Yatra. His knowledge of the craft has been transmitted within the family, forming the foundation for subsequent generations, including his son Keshav Meher. His continued engagement reflects the persistence of generational learning and the role of elders in maintaining continuity within the practice.
