Pradeep has a team of 8 craftsmen working in his shala at Bijepur . He is 62 years old. His father was Jogeshwar Mehena who was a kansa craft practitioner. Dasarathi Mohapatra (B.1975), Chamra Sahu (B.1975), Bhagirathi Mohapatra (B.1979), Ashok Sahu (B.1976), Tarini Pradhan (B.1979), Premanand Mahapatra (B.1990), Ranjit Mahapatra (B1955) and Rabindra Mahapatra (B.1983) are all the members who work with Pradip . These craftsmen have been working together for 39 years. They use 16 kgs of kansa per day to make gini (a pair of clash cymbals) mostly. Their working hours start from 4 am till 10 am . Some of them continue to polish after 10 am as well.
