Born in 1962, Surendra Sahoo from Katapalli specializes in crafting baithi khuri . He makes 4-5 varieties of baithi khuri in different sizes, with the lower part made using the lost wax technique. Dhirendra Sahoo, 55, is Surendra's brother, who assists in making these objects, and the two work together. Furthermore, they do not use the traditional pichoo (tar) technique for polishing, instead relying on an array of about 15 different tools designed specifically for polishing bell metal objects.
