Banabihari Mahapatra is now an 80-year-old artisan from the Kontilo cluster. His father, Harekrushna Mahapatra, was also a Kansari who had transferred the knowledge to his son. Banabihari has made several bell metal objects throughout his artisanal journey, but he stopped making kansa work when he was 68 because of several health reasons.
