Niranjan Sahoo, born in 1978, has been practicing the craft of Bell Metal for 26 years. His father, a Bell Metal artisan, trained him to continue the family legacy. Niranjan creates 80-90 pieces of thali and thaliya while collaborating with fellow artisans from his Balipatna village: Ramachandra Sahoo, Kartik Chandra Sahoo, Narahari Sahoo, Ganesh Sahoo, and Buddadeb Sahoo. As Niranjan shares, he pursued this craft out of necessity, having no other choice, and following in his father's footsteps was a natural path for him. Buddhadeb does finishing works for Niranjan.
