Sanam Bibi is a 45-year-old appliqué artisan based in Pipili, Puri district, Odisha. She began learning the craft at the age of 20 through family-based learning. Her practice combines machine-based and hand processes, using fabric, thread, and basic tools. Her work is oriented more toward everyday and market contexts rather than strictly ritual production. Like others in the region, her practice is shaped by ongoing challenges including material availability, market competition, and infrastructural issues related to transport and tourism.
