Jagannath Panda (b. 1970) is a pioneering Indian contemporary artist whose paintings and sculptures explore tensions between tradition and technology, rural and urban life, and reality and imagination. Born and raised in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, he studied at B.K. College of Art & Crafts and M.S. University of Baroda before completing an MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art, London. His practice draws on Odisha’s cultural traditions, mythology, nature, urbanisation, and social change, often combining drawing, collage, and brocade fabrics. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Mori Art Museum, Tokyo and MAXXI, Rome. In 2011, he founded Utsha Foundation for Contemporary Art.
