Born in 1977, Sadhucharan runs a shala in Balipatna, where he is accompanied by five other artisans. Each phase of development in the crafting process is assigned to an individual. Prasant Prusty (age 32) handles only the polishing of the object, while Hamant Sahoo (age 30) is dedicated to the beating phase of the craft-making process. Similarly, Surendra Kumar Sahoo (age 47), Sadhucharan's cousin, specializes in the finishing stage of making Kansa. Now Sadhucharan is a Mahajan (local merchant).
