As part of the Odisha Craft Odyssey Fellowship Programme, Raj Maurya continued his field research in Puri with a day dedicated to archival exploration and on-site documentation. The visit began at the Puri library, where historical books and reference materials were studied and photographed to support the fellowship's ongoing research.
The fieldwork then shifted to the Rath Yatra chariot construction site and the ASI office within the temple precinct, offering valuable insights into the traditional knowledge, craftsmanship, and cultural practices associated with the annual festival. Conversations with local artisans further enriched the study, providing first-hand perspectives on their making processes, tools, and the role of their craft in ritual preparations. Together, these engagements contributed to a deeper understanding of the interconnected relationship between craft, history, and living cultural traditions in Puri.
