The Odisha Craft Odyssey Residency Programme returns for its 3rd edition with a focus on Dokra, one of Odisha's most distinctive metal casting traditions. Set in Sadeibareni, a village renowned for its generations of skilled artisans, the residency offers an opportunity to engage deeply with craft, community, and cultural practice.
Over the course of eight weeks, selected participants including artists, designers, lens-based practitioners, and researchers will immerse themselves in the rhythms of everyday craft-making, learning directly from artisan communities and exploring the stories, knowledge systems, and creative processes that sustain Dokra today.
This residency is an invitation to observe, learn, document, and create while building meaningful connections between contemporary practice and traditional craftsmanship.
